SigNET’s powerful phased-array hearing loop systems have been specified for a prestigious new care home in Poole, Dorset.

Located in the tranquil village of Hamworthy, Upton Bay is a state-of-the-art 68-bedroomed facility owned by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s leading care home providers. A team of highly qualified staff including a dedicated Activities Coordinator are employed to deliver the highest levels of care at the home which features lounges overlooking landscaped gardens, cafes, a hairdressing salon, cinema, spa and even a special memory lane community area designed to encourage residents to recall pleasurable experiences from the past.

SigNET’s PRO/D hearing loops are now in operation in all communal areas of the building. Designed, supplied and commissioned by specialist communications company, Rossmill Sound, and installed by top M&E contracting company, Rentec Ltd, the innovative systems transmit amplified sound to hearing aids to allow residents to hear more clearly, participate in general conversation and engage in everyday activities in the home.

Rossmill Sound’s MD, Barrie Noyes, said: “We always specify SigNET’s phased array hearing loops. They are robust, high-performance and ideal for high-spec specialist care facilities such as Upton Bay where ensuring minimal overspill and consistent loop coverage with no ‘dead spots’ is essential.”

With an intuitive user-friendly LED interface for fast system set-up of input levels, output current, phantom power and metal compensation, each unit has Class D output stage for maximum efficiency and superior audio processing to provide exceptionally good speech and music reproduction.

Said Barrie: “The Upton Court project was smooth and straightforward. The PRO/Ds have intuitive graphical interfaces which makes installation, set-up and commissioning very easy. SigNET also employs a fantastic team and we receive excellent one-to-one technical and sales support from Tremayne, Howard and Catherine.”
